At KER, we deeply believe that the work of reimagining education cannot be led solely by adults. Children, from a very young age, have the potential to imagine and act for a transformative education. The Fellows of the Future Program is deeply rooted in this very belief- that children can analyse complex challenges in their education, partner with educators in diverse contexts and lead local movements of change to solve these problems.  It empowers students from Grades 8 to 12 to analyze complex challenges in education, partner with educators, and lead local movements of change in their schools and communities.

Leading Change Through Sex Education and Safe Conversations

Harpreet, a passionate learner and curious explorer from Nanakmatta Public School, is on a mission to spark change where it’s needed most. She found the inspiration to take on an issue often left unspoken sex education. Motivated by the gaps in awareness among teenagers around physical and emotional changes during adolescence, Harpreet and her peers recognized a critical need: young people often lack accurate information and safe spaces to talk about their bodies, identities, and choices.

This insight led to the birth of Sexopedia a youth-led initiative to break the silence and stigma around sex education. Her team has been conducting sessions and learning circles that invite open dialogue and peer learning. The group also uses creative platforms, including school events and Instagram, to reach a broader audience and normalize conversations around sexuality and well-being. Through Sexopedia, Harpreet and her team envision a world where every child has the right, knowledge, and confidence to make informed sexual choices.

STORIES OF SUCCESS

"Over the years, the Fellows of the Future program has nurtured a growing network of student leaders who design and lead peer-to-peer learning models, challenge systemic inequities, and inspire others to reimagine what education can truly be."

- Sharda, Fellow of the Future,2020
